Villa Reyes at Playa Las Tortugas offers a wonderful tropical experience and beckons you to the travel experience of a lifetime. We invite you to visit your home away from home in sunny Mexico, where the pace of life is slow and sweet.
It’s your special place where blue Pacific water, warm sand and colorful, tropical sunsets are always in season. Come and take a leisurely walk, or a barefooted run, on miles of pristine sand beach that goes on as far as the eye can see.
As the sunsets on a beautiful day watch as baby turtles are released into the wild.
Fresh fish is on the menu for lunch, either purchased from the fisherman on the beach or by canoeing or taking a short swim to the neighboring fishing village of Platanitos, where you can participate in an authentic Mexican cultural experience.
Visit with the locals who come from miles around to Platanitos for a festive time at the beach. Here you’ll find tasty “sarandeado” style fresh fish or shrimp barbecued over a mesquite grill, traditional cocktails of shrimp and other seafoods in a warm seafood broth, and oysters (seasonal), at over a dozen small rustic restaurants.
The First Floor
As you walk in, the bright, colorful entry and sun motif of our roomy villa welcomes you. Then, just off the entryway you’ll find your two spacious bedroom suites with private baths, king-sized beds and a terrace with outdoor shower. Both air conditioned bedrooms offer ocean views and sounds.
The Main Floor
From the bedrooms, a gently-curving tiled circular stairwell leads you to the air conditioned second floor living and dining areas which open onto a large shaded slate terrace. Here is the perfect place for a cup of coffee or leisurely meal while taking in magnificent views of the ocean down through rows of gently swaying coconut palms and tropical flowers.

The fully equipped Talavera tiled kitchen opens to the comfortable living area (with entertainment system) and the large dining terrace. These spaces provide 180 degree views of the ocean, pool and gardens. There is an adjacent powder room.
Spacious Dining and Living Areas
The dining room, with more ocean and garden views, provides seating for 8, plus a cozy loveseat, desk and glazed Mexican pottery.
Roof-top Terrace
From the interior living area of the home you head up to your roof-top terrace with its own shaded “palapa” and generous views of palm tree-lined beach. Here is an ideal place for sunbathing, for a get together to grill your lunch or dinner, or just to enjoy the tropical ocean breezes and lovely ocean, estuary and garden views. It is also the perfect place for taking in the unforgettable sunsets at Playa Las Tortugas.
Enjoy Swimming and Sunning
During your stay you can enjoy sunning, surfing, boogie boarding and playing in the waves, or have a swim and some fun with family or friends in the fresh water pool only steps from the home.

Wave-surfing in the kayaks or on boogie boards; Canoeing in the calm waters of the estuary; Surfing or Fishing in front of the property; Whale Watching; Enjoying a boat ride for Coastal Sightseeing; Ocean Fishing trips; Sea Turtle Conservation activities (during season); Horseback Riding down several miles of the beach; Birdwatching in our 1100 acres of tidal mangrove estuary.
The El Cora Waterfall is found just outside the small mountain village of El Cora, where you’ll discover several beautiful waterfalls. The highest is over 100 feet, and has a wonderful pool at the bottom of it.
The closest golf courses are at Tepíc (about 1 hour 15 minutes) where you can play all day for a very attractive fee, while your family enjoys the swimming pools and tennis courts of this local country club, and the “Flamingo” (about 1 hour 40 minutes) towards Puerto Vallarta. There are a number of courses around Puerto Vallarta including a Jack Nicklaus course and a Tom Weiskopf course at the Vista Vallarta Golf Club.
Rental Information
We have a special “couples” rate for a maximum of 2 persons except during holidays.
The villa is normally rented by the week, though stays of 2 days or more will be considered.
For stays of 4 consecutive weeks or more, rates will be discounted by $200 per week.
No smoking in the home please, and no pets are allowed.
