The Interior
We invite you to pass through our entry to a colorful home where you’ll find two spacious and restful bedroom suites. Each bedroom has more than ample closet space, a comfortable padded-top king-sized mattress and it’s own full bath.
Custom-decorated Bedrooms
Our custom-decorated bedrooms accommodate up to four adults, while two more guests are welcome in the living area which has an adjacent half-bath. Seen here is the north guest bedroom suite complete with its full bath, and following just below is a view of the master bedroom suite.
The master bedroom suite is spacious, sunny, and has plenty of closet area. It comes accompanied by an elegant bathroom with a full-sized tub set in a marble surround, separated from the large shower with glass-block wall, and graced by an onyx sink and light fixtures as shown in the next photographs.

You’ll enjoy the masterfully crafted bathrooms that employ different types of stone, tile, and quality fixtures.
Discover decorative niches and art pieces from around Mexico, and used throughout the house is a local wood called Rosa Morada, stained to a deep, eye-catching burgundy.
A Great Kitchen for Yourself or Your Cook
You’ll love the granite countertops from South America, the custom cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances of our classy kitchen which is conveniently placed adjacent to the dining and living areas to create a friendly socializing atmosphere.
For those who’d prefer to have meals cooked for them (you are on vacation, after all!), a cooking service is offered where our talented cook Chela will come and prepare delicious traditional Mexican dishes twice a day.
Dining and Living Areas Open to a Covered Terrace
Also on the main floor is the dining room, with it’s exotic coconut shell dining table, and adjacent covered terrace with gas BBQ grill. The living room is furnished with unique pieces from Mexico and around the world, including a mesquite cabinet from artisans in Guadalajara which houses the TV, DVD player, and stereo. Of course we have satellite TV!
Enjoy Swimming and Sunning
While visiting Casa Maria you’ll have the opportunity of sunning and playing in the waves, enjoying a swim in the fresh water pool, or just sitting and relaxing at the pool with a cool drink under the palm-roofed palapa.
You Won’t Want to Leave
The living room has a lovely view through the lush common area gardens and coconut grove to the ocean. Completing the living spaces on the second floor are a work-area containing a desk, and a spacious half-bath with stone accents and maple cabinets.
Continuing up the staircase you arrive at the third floor sunning terrace, with it’s panoramic views of the common area gardens, the ocean, and the mangroves of the estuary. This is the place for your evening margarita while watching the sunset, for perfecting your tan, or for taking your afternoon siesta.
In the early mornings you can hear the sounds of tropical birds such as the “chachalaca” inhabiting trees at the edge of the adjacent estuary. In late afternoons you can see flocks of many different species of birds, some quite rare, going to the estuary to feed; and, at night you can sleep to the sound of the waves.
Whatever your activities, Casa Maria is a beauty in which you can enjoy them.

Amongst other activities, don’t forget about sea turtles or simply just enjoying a long walk through the warm water and soft sand at Playa Las Tortugas !!
Wave-surfing in the kayaks or on boogie boards; Canoeing in the calm waters of the estuary; Surfing or Fishing in front of the property; Whale Watching; Enjoying a boat ride for Coastal Sightseeing; Ocean Fishing trips; Sea Turtle Conservation activities (during season); Horseback Riding down several miles of the beach; Birdwatching in our 1100 acres of tidal mangrove estuary.
The El Cora Waterfall is found just outside the small mountain village of El Cora, where you’ll discover several beautiful waterfalls. The highest is over 100 feet, and has a wonderful pool at the bottom of it.
The closest golf courses are at Tepíc (about 1 hour 15 minutes) where you can play all day for about $40 USD while your family enjoys the swimming pools and tennis courts of this local country club, and the “Flamingo” (about 1 hour 40 minutes) towards Puerto Vallarta. There are a number of courses around Vallarta including a Jack Nicklaus course at the Punta Mita Four Seasons.

We have a special “couples” rate for a maximum of 2 persons except during holidays.
The villa is normally rented by the week, though stays of 2 days or more will be considered.
No smoking in the home please, and no pets are allowed.
