Our living area is furnished in tropical rattan furniture with eclectic art work from all over the world that enhances the feeling of peace and tranquility at our villa. The living room great area is a perfect entertaining space.

Bedrooms

Our villa offers three spacious, comfortable bedrooms, each with super quiet remote-control air conditioning, DVD player, and satellite television. The second bedroom with its king sized bed and bath is located on the first floor. Sliding doors lead to the main terrace and pool. The third bedroom is attached to the house, but with a private entrance and ensuite bathroom with tub and shower. Relax with a wonderful candlelight bubble bath. The surf and stars will lull you to sleep each night.

The master bedroom is in a more private location on the second floor with a queen bed and full bathroom. The master patio has a magnificent view overlooking the ocean and yard filled with tropical plants.

Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, and Gardens

The pool and gardens are a treat, full of color and tropical aromas. Have a liesurely breakfast by the pool with a cup of robust Mexican coffee and freshly squeezed juice. Our pool area features a fountain and casita complete with sink, refrigerator, and bar including glassware and dishes for entertaining. View the Pacific Ocean from the infinity edge of the pool while surrounded by palms and lush tropical vegetation.

You may want to have a soak in the attached jacuzzi while watching the sunset.

Upper Terrace and Palapa

The upper terrace is a great place to escape for more privacy, read a book, or have a quiet moment alone or not.

Upstairs you’ll find the larger of the two master suites.  Relax on the comfortable king bed, crack open the windows, and let the waves lull you to sleep

A sizeable bathroom with shower and separate tub are attached to the suite as are two private balconies.

Downstairs you’ll find another large master suite.  Similar to the upstairs you’ll find a bathroom complete with shower and double sinks.—Walk out from the suite onto your terraced patio and enjoy the flowers or venture past the outdoor shower as you make your way to the beach.

The other downstairs bedroom is the most secluded of all.  The room comes complete with a comfortable queen bed and built-in desk.  A pocket door easily sections off the main downstairs bathroom to complete a third suite if so desired.

The fossil studded bathroom is so inviting with very unusual shell framed mirrors. The tub invites you to soak away your cares after a day at the beach.

 


The large guest suite features a queen bed, ample closets and lovely garden views that filters the light with greens, reds and blues. The full bath the adjoins the suite has a walkin shower and a very unique sink with fossils encased in the basin.

The Main Floor

A true Chef’s kitchen (the owner is a professional chef), boasts every gadget you could possibly need to cook your favorite dishes with locally obtained seafood and ingredients. There is even an ice cream maker. Have our chefs prepare up to 2 meals a day Mexican-style from a varied menu.

Once booked, your Villa has been reserved just for you. You can start dreaming right away!  Playa Las Tortugas does not “double book” or “over book” accommodations.  Because Playa Las Tortugas is a not a large, volume hotel operator and provides an individualized, intimate and private experience for our guests seeking to get away from it all, we have developed the following policies regarding cancellations, refunds and security deposits.

Rental Amounts

A rental deposit of 50% of your total estimated rental amount is required to reserve your time at one of our Villas. The rental deposit is due at time of making your reservation. The rental deposit is refundable (less a 10% processing fee if paid via credit card) up to 45 calendar days prior to your arrival date for non-holiday reservations. For holiday reservations such as Christmas and New Year, deposits are refundable (less a 10% processing fee if paid via credit card) up to 90 calendar days prior to your arrival date.

Deposits can be paid by credit card, personal check (see following note), cashier’s check, money order or wire transfer. [Note - you may pay via personal check if the reservation is booked and paid for at least 45 days from the arrival date for non-holidays, or at least 90 days from the arrival date for holidays such as Christmas and New Year.]

The estimated final payment of the rental amount, and the security deposit, are due 45 days prior to your arrival for non-holiday reservations, or 90 days prior to your arrival for holiday reservations such as Christmas and New Year. The estimated final payment of the rental amount balance is not refundable.

Cancellations for non-holiday reservations that occur with less than 45 days notice are not refundable.

Christmas and New Year holiday cancellations that occur with less than 90 days notice are not refundable.

Reservation Changes

You may change your reservation dates one time if you make the change more than 45 days prior to the arrival date of your initial reservation for non-holidays, or more than 90 days prior to the arrival date of your initial reservation for Christmas and New Year holidays, without penalty. In case of a second change of reservation dates more than 45 days prior to the arrival date of your initial reservation for non-holidays, or more than 90 days prior to the arrival date of your initial reservation for Christmas and New Year holidays, a fee of 15% may apply for reservation date changes.

Reservation dates cannot be changed 45 days or less from the arrival date of your initial reservation for non-holidays, or more than 90 days prior to the arrival date of your initial reservation for Christmas and New Year holidays.

Security Deposits

The security deposit is due, along with the balance of the rental amount, 45 days before your arrival.  The security deposit is refundable (less a 10% fee if paid via credit card) at any time prior to your stay if you need to cancel.  Your security deposit will be refunded (less a 10% fee if paid via credit card) within 14 days of the date of checkout less any amounts due for property or contents damage or loss.

Credit Card Fees

Because all transactions, both charges and refunds, processed on a credit card incur approximately a 5% fee it is necessary for us to charge you a 10% processing fee on all rental amounts paid via credit card and returned due to cancellation. It is also necessary for us to charge you a 10% processing fee for all security deposits paid via credit card. You may avoid these charges by making payment with a check or cashier’s check 45 days prior to your arrival for non-holidays or 90 days prior to arrival for holidays. Please note that if personal checks are used to make payments your reservation will not be confirmed until receipt and processing of your check by Playa Las Tortugas.

Travel Insurance

If there are uncertainties regarding your ability to use your vacation time with us, or if you just want to insure your vacation against unknown events that may come up, you may want to obtain travel insurance.  Sites such as InsureMyTrip.com offer and compare travel insurance policies from major insurers. You may check with them or alternative sites on the Web.

A king-sized bed in each room decorated with Mexican art from Tonala make the bedroom suites comfortable and pleasing. The bedrooms have their own terraces, surrounded by gardens filled with exotic plants, and an outdoor shower for your use returning from the beach or pool.

 


 
You’ll find more than ample closet space for everyone’s clothing and beach toys behind the beautiful custom-made huanacaxtle wood doors in both bedrooms.

The Main Floor

A winding stairwell guides you to the second floor living, dining, and kitchen areas with 2 covered patios used for your morning coffee or just as a viewing area of the flower gardens and beach. It is perfect for creating a pleasant social vacation atmosphere, has a TV, disc and CD player, ½ bath, and seating arrangement with trundle bed if needed for additional guests.

Traditional Tiled Kitchen

The open kitchen, finished with traditional talavera tile from Dolores Hidalgo, has all you will need to cook your favorite dishes with locally obtained seafood and ingredients.  A bar with stools will help your company keep you engaged as you prepare the feast.  Prefer not to cook?  Have our chefs prepare up to 2 meals a day Mexican-style from a varied menu.

 

A dining nook with open views of the wonderful gardens completes this bright colorful level of our home adorned with regional art, talavara tile as well as decorative glazed pots and vases.

Your View from the Living Area

From the main living level look down through the palms onto the warm blue water and sand of the Pacific Ocean. And, yes, the sunsets are frequently as spectacular as our unique setting.
 

Enjoy Swimming and Sunning

You have the opportunity to either enjoy the sunning and playing in the waves, or a swim in the fresh water pool at Playa Las Tortugas, with it’s palm-roofed palapa and comfortable sunning chairs, or just sit and relax with a cool drink.

Now take the staircase to the roof terrace with it’s own thatched palapa to cook on our Weber grill, sunbathe, play board games, read a book or just sit and listen to the rolling waves on the beach, watch the incredible sunsets, stare at the stars so brilliant you think you can touch them. The chairs and lounges are so comfortable, the breezes so pleasing and the views so incredible that you may not leave this inviting terrace other than to refill your drink or obtain a snack. Need some shade? The tall coconut palms and palapa offer you a respite from the sun. Some of our guests say they hardly ever come down from the rooftop because it’s their very favorite place, in the world.

Activities (on site or nearby)

 
Activities available will keep you busy and entertained. The beach is wide, clean and essentially uninhabited for miles to the south where you can sunbathe, boogie board, bodysurf or try your luck with a surfboard.  You will see some of the locals surfing in this premier surfing area down near the mangrove-lined tidal estuary and bird sanctuary just north of you.  Don’t want to be that active?  Whale watch either from the beach or schedule a chartered trip to see these magnificent mammals up close.  Keep an eye out for the dolphins cruising just off shore.  You could fish from the beach, charter a boat from a nearby fishing village for the bigger catch or help release tbaby sea turtles in the fall from the adjacent Turtle conservation camp.  Taking a kayak into the tidal estuary to see the many species of birds or visit the crocodile nesting sites can be a thrill.  Don’t forget the beach walks or runs and while out there pick up seashells for you collection. Schedule a massage beachside or on the palapa for the ultimate in relaxation with the music of the waves to sooth you.
 

The El Cora Waterfall is found just outside the small mountain village of El Cora, where you’ll discover several beautiful waterfalls. The highest is over 100 feet, and has a wonderful pool at the bottom of it.
 
The closest golf courses are at Tepíc (about 1 hour 15 minutes) where you can play all day for about $40 USD while your family enjoys the swimming pools and tennis courts of this local country club, and the “Flamingo” (about 1 hour 40 minutes) towards Puerto Vallarta. There are a number of courses around Vallarta including a Jack Nicklaus course at the Punta Mita Four Seasons.

We have a special “couples” rate for a maximum of 2 persons except during holidays.
 
The villa is normally rented by the week, though stays of 2 days or more will be considered.
 
No smoking in the home please, and no pets are allowed.
